Annie once again was a demonstration horse for the Canadian Warmblood Horse Breeders Association. This time we took her to the Can-Am Equine Emporium in London. She had most of the winter off but after only a couple of weeks of light riding she was ready to go. She once again handled it like a seasoned show horse. Her only complaint was that being in a stall for 3 days was a bit boring, so we bought her a ball, and regularly took her for walks outside, where she was introduced to noisy freight trains, buggy horses and drill team excitement. If she is that mellow about the circus that is Can Am, a regular show will be a breeze.

Act Casual (barnname Nemo) was sold. We'll miss him but are happy he's got a great new home at a lovely show barn in Oakville. Congratulations on your first horse Heather. Please do keep us posted and send us a picture sometime.

Playtime!!!! Here is link to a short clip of a couple of my dressage prospects. The bigger gelding most often on the inside is Seraphino by Sinatra Song out of Riverdale by Kadans. The more elegant one behind him is Angelina by Redwine out of Unique by Gribaldi. Both are over 16 HH at the age of 2 and have impeccable dressage pedigrees, very strong gaits and fantastic conformation.

Annie was at the Royal. We did warmblood demonstrations in the "Spirit of the Horse Ring". Annie is a 3 year old Canadian Warmblood filly by the International GP jumper Ikoon out of a Lorbas mare that is full sister to a number of successful junior and amateur jumpers. Annie was only started a few months ago and this was her first show. She handled it like a seasoned show horse. She remained completely calm and happily worked in that small ring with all those distractions. She has the scope, movement and looks to be a top level show horse and the mind to do it under a junior or amateur rider.

Another great performance by Ziroko. He won the Hunter Under Saddle for the Ultimate Hunter Challenge for 4 and 5 year olds at the Canadian Show Jumping Tournament at Palgrave. Ziroko is by Iroko out of Contiki. Ziroko was bred by us and owned by Alyssha Wilson and is shown here by Jackie Carey

Hershey and Ashley made their Prix St. George debut. Hershey (aka Providence) is ridden by Ashley MacKenzie and owned by Dallard Runge. Great job guys. I can't way to see more.
Hershey is a 1999 gelding by Private Project out of Allie by Lorbas. Allie has been a great producing mare. We do have several other talented prospects out of Alie for sale including Frankie her 2009 foal by Sinatra Song sired by Sandro Hit.

I went to visit see Hendrik (aka Scratch 'n Dent) in action at the Cedar ridge jumper show. It's such a treat to see him do so well.

Hendrik is doing fantastic in the jumper ring. It's a new job for him. He was a dressage and pleasure horse for his early years but his new owner Sherry Mahle is thrilled with his talent over fences. I'm not surprised. His bloodlines on the sire side include the prominent jumper producers Amor, Ulft and Ramiro and his damsire Amethyst was a successful high level eventer. Hendrik has always been bold and courageous and this new job is a perfect fit. Hendrik was bred by VandenBrink farms and is by the KWPN sire Kadans out of the mare Contiki by Amethyst. He was born in 2000 and registered with the name Hendrik but now shows under the name Scratch n Dent. He's currently high point leader in the Training Child Adult Jumper division in the Georgia Bay Trillium Circuit. Not bad for his first year over fences. Congratulations Sherry.

Riverdale has been confirmed in foal to Landfriesse II, Unique is in foal to Westporte, and Allie has just been bred to Cotopaxi. Wally will soon be bred to Redwine.

Fiona Miranda competed at the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair and place 6th in the Governor Generals Cup (21 entries), 2nd in the 3 year old CSH fillies (10 entries) and was Reserve Senior Champion Filly. Congratulatulations Elizabeth and family on Fiona's successes and thank you Ginny Johnson for a great job handling.

Yeah...we're going to the Royal. Fiona Miranda attended the Twinholm Governor General's Cup qualifier on October 5th and placed 3rd out of a class of over 30. Fiona Miranda (formerly Rividi) is by Oxford out of Riverdale and was purchased by Elizabeth as a weanling. She won the 2005 CWHBA foal futurity and placed 3rd at the Royal last year as a 2 year old. We're keeping our fingers crossed for a great performance in the prestigious Governor Generals Cup class at the Royal for Canadian Bred 3 year olds Sport Horses.

Seraphino was 2nd place in the foal class at the CWHBA open warmblood breed show and won Junior Reserve Champion. He was a trooper his first time away from home. He received rave reviews from the judges and audience about the quality of his gaits, which is no surprise if you look at his pedigree. His sire is the stunning Sinatra Song who is by internationally famous dressage producer Sandro Hit. His dam Riverdale is by Kadans who successfully competed in dressage at the Grand Prix level. Ziroko was reserve
champion Baby Green Hunter at Halton Place and won the 4 year old
Eastern Hunter Futurity (part of the Canadian Performance
Futurity). A few weeks later he became reserve champion in the
Ultimate Hunter Challenge for 4 and 5 year olds at the Autum
Classic, winning the over fences, and placing second in the
model. Congratulations to the owner Alysshia Wilson and rider Rob
Carey with these accomplishments. Ziroko is by Iroko out of
Contiki by Amethyst and was purchased from us as a two year old.

CNE. Hershey is by Private Project xx out of our mare Allie by
Lorbas. We have several younger siblings out of this mare for
sale. Her latest foal "Iceman" pictured below has
wonderful gaits, flashy good looks and an amazing temperament.
He'd make a wonderful upper level prospect suitable for both a
professional or amateur rider.
On June 24 Unique gave birth to a beautiful filly by Redwine.

Unique (Gribaldi x Olivia by Burggraaf) was highest scoring mare for CWHBA mare inspections Canada with an overal score of 8.55. The second highest score was an 8.12. We very proud of our new CHAMPION mare and anxiously await the arrival of her first foal by Redwine. She had been booked to Rousseau for a 2009 foal.

Volant (2002 by Iroko out of Contiki by Amethyst) was champion Baby Green Conformation Hunter at the Niagara Equestrian Festival in July. He now shows under the name Fitzwilliam and is owned by Deborah Roy and ridden by Lexy Solomon.

Our new broodmare Unique was champion mare at the Hogendoorn Warmblood show in Baden Ontario. She received an impressive overall score of 8.5 including 9s for "Breed and Sex type", "Swing and Elasticity", "General Impression and Development", Walk, Head, Neck and "Saddle Position". The judging committee consisted of Chris Gould, Eve Mainwaring and Andrew Dalnoki.
We are absolutely ecstatic and look forward to many premium quality foals from this mare. She is by the famous KWPN keur stallion Gribaldi out of a star mare by Burggraaf. She is in foal to the newly imported stallion Redwine (Rotspon/Matcho).

Yeah...everyone is pregnant!! We are very excited about our breeding choices for this year and are anticipating the arrival of some top notch hunter foals and one very special dressage foal for next year. That is the plan, so now we wait. I'd like to say patiently, but most of the time it's rather impatiently. 11 months is just too long! Allie is in foal to Oxford, Rivalia is in foal to Westporte, Riverdale is in foal to Sinatra Song and our newest mare Unique was just confirmed in foal to Redwine.

Volant was sold and will continue his training under the supervision of Lexy Solomon in Erin Ontario. We look forward to seeing him in the hunter ring in 2007.

Ziroko was sold today to Alyssha Wilson from Fonthill Ontario. Her plans are to develop him as a hunter, with a possible plans for the jumper ring. We look forward to seeing him shown on the line over the next year to gain some exposure and experience.

Rivella and Anika attended the 2006 CWHBA foal futurity at Millcreek Stables. We had some serious competiton with very good quality foals and came home with a 4th and 5th place (Anika 4th, Rivella 5th). No win this year...but in the ribbons and in the money!!!

Our covermodel hendrik on the frontpage and top banner has been sold and I'm sure he will make his new owner Alison very happy as a talented young dressage prospect. He will be missed. Fortunately he's not far from home so I'll be able to keep in touch.
